A partnership between DC Comics and Capcom has been announced with the resulting Capcom comics set to release Devil May Cry and Resident Evil comics. I have to be honest that I have something of a vested interest in this kind of partnership; combining two of my greatest loves – comics and console games.

It does obviously smack a little of milking the cash cow, but blatant cashing in is perfectly acceptable as long as the resulting product is worthwhile. Devil May Cry isn’t one of the franchises that we’ve seen that much of, in terms of branded goods although Resident Evil has certainly been through the mill. You know, apparently, before the films and stuff, they also made games of it.

By teaming up with DC Comics, at least, Capcom have gone some way to ensuring that the resulting comic book series should be of a good quality.

Unfortunately, there’s not much more in the way of detail to provide you with but as soon as we know, you’ll know. In the meantime, we do know that Capcom Comics aims to release the Resident Evil comic in tandem with Resident Evil 5, which is being billed as the next revolutionary stage in the RE series.
