Microsoft is attempting to improve the Xbox Live Arcade experience and in line with this and the release of 5 potentially huge games over the coming weeks, they are holding a Summer of Arcade competition that starts today. Just by playing the demo or full version of the weekly featured game you could win one of a range of prizes including 100,000 Microsoft Points or even a brand new Xbox 360 Elite console.

The Featured Games started this morning with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and will continue weekly with Braid (6th August), Bionic Commando:Rearmed (13th August), Galaga Legions (20th August), Castle Crashers (27th August).

When you play either the demo or full versions of these games you win a free entry into the two prize draws; one weekly and one grand prize. Every week, one lucky player will receive 4,000 Microsoft points. The grand prize offers a first prize bundle of an Xbox 360 Elite console, a 12 Month Xbox Live GOLD subscription, and 100,000 Microsoft Points. 2 runners up will also receive 10,000 Microsoft Points and a 12 month Live subscription each.
